Italy

Italy has no single national form. You book on Prenot@mi, and then each consulate asks for its own Forms 1 to 4 and its own checklist. Use the version from the consulate that covers the state where you legally reside.

Prenot@mi

Citizenship appointment booking

Open Prenot@mi

prenotami.esteri.it/

Fee: €600 per adult applicant, paid in US dollars ($691 until December 31, 2026). Non-refundable.

  1. Create an account with the email you will use for the whole case. Choose your consulate, then the service “Cittadinanza per discendenza”.
  2. The date you are given is your filing date. At most US consulates you mail the application on that date rather than attending in person. Read your consulate’s page below.
  3. Each consulate publishes its own forms (usually Forms 1 to 4). Use your consulate’s version, not one from another consulate.
